I am trying to help a friend out. Typical problem in that the #3 injector line came off and cooked the #3 piston. #1 and #2 piston still have very good compression. I know the safe route is to just buy a remanned SBT engine, however, I would like to learn how to troubleshoot this problem. Basically, what do I need to do to find out if this problem has done any damage to the lower end of the motor?
My thought is it could be fixed much cheaper (new piston/cylinder/sleeve) if I were certain no other damage was done.
